Category
Solar energy
Type of seminar
Technology-specific advanced seminar
Target Groups
Staff from government bodies and public authorities responsible for legislation on renewable energy and energy efficiency
Course Objectives
- Solar thermal is a proven technology that allows quick access to a low-cost renewable energy technology. The course follows a technological approach in order to enable you to assess applicability and identify means for market deployment in your country
- In this seminar you will gain an in-depth insight into all stages of solar thermal projects from design and installation to commissioning, operation and maintenance.
- You will learn about different system configurations and will carry out actual system design and simulation. This includes energy and feasibility assessment, site analysis and an evaluation of prospective energy yields using suitable simulation software. Also covered are detailed component selection, practical construction issues, adherence to standards and guidelines. The seminar focuses on smaller systems but will also have a strong focus on larger applications (e.g. hotels, laundries or hospitals).
- You will deepen your theoretical knowledge through a number of tasks with solar thermal components and system rigs. You will visit existing installations to further highlight installation issues and typical problems and pitfalls of real systems.
- The course will further on show you how to economically analyze solar thermal projects. This includes an analysis of several worldwide approaches for the financial support of solar thermal systems as well as a comparison with conventional fossil heat energy sources. We want to activate all course participants to share their experiences and to discuss good practice solutions for market support measures.
Benefits
- Get the theoretical and practical know-how on planning and installing solar thermal systems.
- Deepen your knowledge with a high proportion of hands-on training.
