Category
Hybrid systems
Type of seminar
Technology-specific advanced seminar
Target Groups
Staff from government bodies and other public authorities responsible for renewable energy and energy efficiency legislation
Course Objectives
- Off-grid applications play an important role when it comes to supplying people and technical applications in remote areas with electricity. In many cases they even provide an economically competitive electricity supply solution.
- At the end of the five-day seminar you will gain a fundamental understanding of wind power, PV, power storage using batteries and inverters in hybrid systems. You learn about typical applications in the context of rural electrification and off-grid power supplies. You will get an insight in the essential steps for the planning of hybrid systems. You will be trained to do initial designs of hybrid system using easily comprehensible software, to simulate the power generation costs of different technical variants and have an overview of different software programs.
- Apart from technology, framework conditions and financing are crucial: You will see how governmental incentives support market introduction and what driving forces are in place. Another important aspect is the question of how to integrate all stakeholders in the process and how to activate them. Group discussions and presentations will allow you to develop and exchange ideas for efficient hybrid system market deployment.
- The course will further on show you how to perform an economic analysis of hybrid renewable energy projects and what financing models exist.
