Course Objectives
- This course provides an introduction for decision makers from ministries to biogas and biofuels. Following an introduction to the technologies, the course covers economics as well as supporting schemes and project management issues.
- You will also learn about various frameworks and approaches for the support of biogas and biofuels and their market entry from different countries, their strengths and weaknesses, best practices and lessons learned. Here you will benefit from the experience and know-how of your fellow participants from all over the world as everybody will present the legal framework/political strategy in her or his country of origin.
In the financing session you will learn about CDM mechanisms, types of financing and funding (credits, mezzanine, grants, etc.) as well as potential sources of financing. - Lectures are supplemented by a field trip to a biogas plant close to Berlin.
- The course provides the platform for international exchange and networking with experts from Germany and from other TREE-trainings. The course closes with a workshop on strategy planning for the design and implementation of biogas and biofuels support programs.
