Type of seminar
Technology specific seminar covering technologies, economics and frameworks on energy efficiency in industry, commerce and buildings
Target Groups
Staff from government bodies and other public authorities responsible for energy efficiency legislation
Course Objectives
- This course provides an introduction for decision makers from ministries to energy efficient technologies, products and applications in industry, commerce and buildings. Following an introduction to the technologies, the course covers the economy of energy efficient technologies as well as project management issues.Energy efficiency in buildings shows state-of-the-art and innovative approaches in building design, components, materials and the construction. The training focuses also on cost effectiveness of different EE measures, legal frameworks and standards.
- Lectures are supplemented by demonstrations and practical exercises in RENAC’s Training Center in Berlin.
- Apart from technology there are three more crucial elements for the successful planning and implementation of energy efficiency - frameworks and financing.
- You will also learn about various frameworks and approaches for the support of energy efficiency and their market entry from different countries, their strengths and weaknesses, best practices and lessons learned. Here you will benefit from the experience and know-how of your fellow participants from all over the world as everybody will present the legal framework/political strategy for energy efficiency in her or his country of origin.
- In the financing session you will learn about CDM mechanisms, types of financing and funding (credits, mezzanine, grants, etc.) as well as potential sources of financing.
- The course provides the platform for international exchange and networking with experts from Germany and from other TREE-trainings.
- The course closes with a workshop on strategy planning for the design and implementation of energy efficient support programs.
