The concept of TREE
For the successful development of renewable energies and the implementation of energy-efficiency measures, appropriate conditions and incentives must be in place and there will have to be personnel available who are qualified in the installation and maintenance of the technologies.
Germany has many years of expertise in the implementation of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, which can be passed on. TREE promotes capacity building and know-how transfer for political and economical decision makers. It offers a comprehensive educational approach which brings those with a non-technical background into contact with renewable energy and energy efficiency technology and examines these from a legal, technical and economic perspective.
The TREE educational services aims to enhance the following key procedures:
- Setting up the necessary legal environment, both public and private, through regulations
- Enabling investments in renewable energy projects and energy efficiency measures
- Accelerating the implementation of green energy projects.
Capacity building within TREE project means: courses in Germany and abroad, but also policy advice as well as increasing the dialogue over actual experiences between decision makers from the partner countries. In this way, TREE supports the laying of foundations for CO2 reduction, greater independence from fossil fuels, the development of new industries and security of energy supply.
The TREE project, run by the Renewables Academy (RENAC), started in December 2008 and is supported by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU).
